Easter Eggs-tra

Garden District ChickWhat’s your answer to which came first….chicken or the egg? Here is a really cute chick of papier-mache found in the uber stylish Garden District floral shop in Memphis.

Partridge's Alchemist cobweb eggsMaybe the egg comes first…on the King’s Road in London, Partridge’s sells these Cobweb Eggs by The Alchemist. Choose white chocolate or dark chocolate, that could be a whole other discussion!

Shawish Surprise at Harrod'sOr maybe you want to skip the chick/egg part and move right to diamonds! This is the Shawish Diamond Surprise, by now, probably scooped up by a Russian billionaire from the Harrod’s display. This egg is made from Criollo cocoa beans, the world’s most expensive. And tucked inside a pretty little pendant of 377 diamonds, almost 5 carats, in 18ct white gold. And only 28,000 pounds Sterling!

The Big Egg HuntThe month of April in New York City is the setting for The Faberge Big Egg Hunt now in its last week. Hundreds of 30” fiberglass, 120 pound eggs have been ‘hidden’ over all 5 boroughs of New York City. Hunters download the The Big Egg Hunt App on their phones and then start to find as many eggs as they can before April 30.

Faberge blue and white eggEggs have been designed by Tracey Emin, Juilan Schnabel, Peter Beard, Ralph Lauren, Martha Stewart, Jeff Koons and many other famous artists and designers. All the eggs are available at auction www.thebigegghunt.org/eggs.   All proceeds go to charity – “conceived and hatched by the Elephant Family, (this) raises money for Asia’s endangered elephants and children through New York City’s Studio in a School”. The blue and white egg above is near the marketplace in Grand Central Station.

Liana Ricci eggThe Great Egg HuntTrust Martha Stewart to have some great images of the eggs on her blog www.themarthablog.com/2014/04/the-faberge-egg-hunt-nyc.html.   This is another egg I ‘found’ in Grand Central by Liane Ricci, dedicated to Goldie Hawn. All the eggs will be collected and displayed at Rockefeller Center. Easter, like winter, is sticking around!

Easter BouquetFinally, here’s a sumptuous Easter bouquet from Pulbrooke & Gould for all you Spring Chicks!
